Adi goes shopping!
No amount of advertising can help somebody who does not meet the expectation. And no amount of efforts of a honest product will be sold, unless it is advertised properly.
What a paradox?
Time to visit my in-house super market let me look back into my soul. Some where in some dusty corneranswer could be lying.. I guess it's waiting for me to be noticed.
There I go again. Anybody joining me to hang out
I often wonder what people would do when they take a break. I thought let me try what others are doing which I usually don't do. I am sort of a person who is in a shell and today was the day when I took a break. I went to shopping.
The glitzy shopping mall was the destination I had to hit.
Having gone there, I felt like Alice in a Wonderland. I wondered whether people are insane to come here and I almost needed a GPS to navigate through those numerous racks and shelves of things. Some of them were bought as though it was going to be extinct and others were left out to perish. Shakira's "Waka Waka" anthem on the going FIFA could have been heard even by any living being which did not have anything near to sense of hearing. There were assortment of things.even my chocolates. I smiled at them and picked a packet of them. From medicines to groceries everything was available here. I was looking for something special.
I made my way through the shelves and managed to find all those things which I never wanted to buy. For me, it was like talking to each of the brands and looking for the perfect match. But, I couldn't find what I wanted.
Some products were literally hunted for and the others were surrendering themselves, but still there were no takers. However, I managed to buy what I wanted didn't I say pierce through the soul.. when I gobbled the chocolate. I did what I said. Consumers psyche cannot be understood. Is it the brand? Is it the quality? Is it the price? Or is it just a frenzy to buy something because, people are just buying it? Or is it because it is placed right in the front of the door, lazy people like me can just pick it up and not knowing what's in store beyond that?
Who's lucky to be picked? Who can be worth to serve customer/client?
I felt no better than those displayed in the mall. Sometimes hunted and sometimes left out of the race. It all depends on who picks you and why they pick you. After all the hard work we do, somewhere, something gets lost in communicating to the target audience.
Nevertheless, there are successful products which are being sold right from my grandpa's times. I feel, I need to understand the success behind these products. The success stories of people and products are the same.
First, they were loyal to each other. They never let down the usability. I need to be trusted by my client and not for once but for their lifetime.
Second, change and have makeover as the time changes. More than this anticipate what my client wants and be ready for a solution for which a problem may arise in future. It may sound funny believe me it will work.
Thirdly, positioning before the target audience. I have to be where my service is required. That' s why there are malls today in every major street corner.
Don't you feel. At least those sailing in the same boat as me. We need to re-position ourselves to make ourselves more visible and more acceptable.
Ah! There in that corner I guess I have found my stuff. The place seems to be covered with all sorts of things. I risked putting my hand right in that corner and in the bottom of my soul. I find what I wantedGyan to be more visible and more acceptable to my customers.
Yeap! I did get lots of free brochures and myriad stuff which I promptly rejected.
