Should I Allow Husband To Cheat On Me Again?
He fooled around once
He fooled around once. The result for that is a bit discomfiting that you having a hard time accepting the idea of letting him off the hook. Definitely you prefer that your marriage is saved. You have not stopped loving your husband but at the same time you are not comfortable with the idea of forgiving him only to find out later that he cheats on you again, right?
You spend more time asking "how many times should I forgive my cheating husband?" than you do wondering if your cheating husband deserves a second chance. This isn't good for either of you. You need to explore your options and decide the best course of action for you.
Is One Time One Too Many?
For some women, a cheating husband is something they just can't handle. It's too large of a betrayal or something that just hurts too much to confront day in and out. There's nothing wrong with that. You are the one who has to live with your decision for forgiving your husband for cheating or not forgiving him.
Forgiving him however, doesn't mean you need to continue living with him as husband and wife. You can never be obligated to stay and be with him after the cheating he did, of course exception to that is if you choose to stay with him. A number of women simply cannot move on after the cheating to let it pass and anticipate a possible future. That's another completely understandable situation which has something to do on your feelings about the marriage, the husband and the vows you both gave to each other.
Forgiveness is not a Free Pass
Forgiveness on your husband's cheating acts and giving him that second chance does not translate to allowing him to go out and cheat on you again. There is no good reason within reach that either of you should expect him to go Scot-free and cheat again just because he is forgiven by you at this instant.
However, this is something the two of you need to sit down and have long and strong conversations about before you decide to get back together. He needs to understand, without a doubt, that this is a second chance and he can squander it but that wouldn't be recommended.
There Won't be a Third Strike
This is one significant point that needs stressing with your husband. A second chance he might be given. But it is only that one. If straying again is what he intends, he will definitely never get a turn at the mug (just so that he may understand).
You have forgiven him once, still he went back to make the same mistake risking to ruin the relationship once more, then it must be high time for you to move back and spend some serious time apart. You have the choice of course to decide to forgive him once more, but changes definitely need to be put in place by the two of you if you really intend to make the relationship work.
