Should I Buy A Docking Station Or A Laptop Stand?
Have you noticed how your laptop gets really hot when you leave it on for extended periods of time
? You're not alone in this problem. It arises as a result of insufficient air flow below the laptop. Another common problem with laptops is achy hands which is caused by typing on a horizontal surface for too long. Did you know that there's an easy solution to solving both problems? You can do so with an HP docking station or a laptop stand.
You know those small legs that flip up or down on the back of standard keyboards? Laptop stands and the HP docking station create the same effect, elevating your keyboard to a more comfortable and healthy position.
Finally, you can type for long periods of time without the pain that used to accompany it! The only other problem left to address is the issue of overheating, and a docking station solves that too. Since you own a laptop, you're probably quite mobile, right? So you might be wondering how you're going to lug this stand everywhere. Lucky for you, these stands are designed to be ultra-portable. Students and businessmen can easily fold it and tuck it away while on the move. While a laptop stand is perfect for very mobile users, it's not ideal for laptop users who have a more permanent location for their laptop.
It's like a laptop stand with many more features. Extra peripherals like keyboards, an external mouse and an additional monitor are made possible with an HP docking station. In addition, business users will find great use from the other ports that are included, such as USB, Ethernet, and phone. An HP docking station is a vast improvement over a laptop stand. But as with all things in life, you get what you pay for.
So laptop stands and HP docking stations have a few significant differences. Laptop stands will be a better fit for on-the-go types. For cheap, you can get one that will offer the comfort you seek.
However, if your laptop doesn't move very often, or generally only travels between two locations (like mine) then an HP docking station will provide much more value. In addition to improved comfort and heat dissipation, an HP docking station will give you loads of options for peripherals and advanced functionality.
I hope that you can now see the difference between these two laptop enhancements, and I encourage you to buy one or the other, depending on your needs. You'll be making a smart decision!
