So you have finally made it to the finalstep of applying your lace wig, but now your unsure if you should use wig tape or glue to apply your full lace or front lace unit. Good thing the hair industry/market has created adhesives just for applying lace wigs!Well, here area fewthingsyou shouldconsider before you apply yournewwig: 1. Tape adhesives are double-sided and sticky on both sides. One sticky side is attached to your skin and the other sticky part of the tape should beapplied to the lace. (This step is done after you cut the excess lace according to your hair line) 2. Glue adhesives work the same way, but the glueis applied first then allowed to sit until it is dry (about 1-2 minutes depending on the manufacturer.) Allowing the glue to dry will ensure the glue residue does not get on to the hair and the lace sticks properly. It is a good idea to make sure the glue comes with a small brush or else your in for a real mess! If you have sensitive skin or are prone to break outs I would recommend using the tape or a water based adhesive. Each method has it's pros and cons so you may have to conduct a little experimenting before applying the glue or tape completely to your skin. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO APPLY ANY OTHER GLUE OR TAPE TO YOUR SKIN WHICH IS NOT DESIGNED FOR LACE WIGS! In order to prevent any allergic reaction to the lace wig adhesives, especially glue, you can make a hand test. Apply a small drop of glue on your skin, in any of the sensitive places of your body (meaning the inner side of the forearm, near the hairline or even on your neck). Leave it to dry for about half of hour, than remove it. If within 24 hours the place covered by glue becomes red and itchy, it may be a sign that you are allergic to it. In that case, you can use tape adhesives instead of glue. You can buy a variety of adhesive kits that include the adhesive, scalp protectors, fray block, conditioners to treat the hair on the lace wig in order to prevent the wear & tear and even products that will help you to remove effectively the adhesive from the lace front wig and the skin.
