Should You Use Unisex Scented Oil Fragrances?
Many people may have a problem with the term unisex but there is absolutely no reason why you shouldnt wear these scented oil fragrances
. The term refers to fragrances which are suitable for either sex to wear. They are characterized by the fragrances that they contain. Unisex fragrances wont contain a whole lot of flowery or feminine ingredients, or a lot of the woodsy ingredients which are normally associated with masculine fragrances.
The key to choosing any fragrance is really not whether the perfumer decided to put for men or for women on the label but how does that fragrance react with your body chemistry? If it fits you well then by all means wear it. You want people to react to you and the persona that you use fragrance to create. No one is going to really care whether a fragrance is made for men or women if it smells good on you so go for what you know.
Fragrance gender is totally arbitrary and does not define your masculinity or feminity. Many of my female customers will not hesitate to wear mens fragrance if they like it. One such fragrance is Gautier for men. Many of my female customers will choose this scented oil fragrance without hesitation without even sampling the womens version. Male customers are less likely to cross over to wearing a fragrance designated for women and in many instances the fragrances are too flowery for me to consider wearing but many of them such as Egyptian musk, and African musk, perform nicely with both sexes.
Generally my younger customers will more readily wear the unisex fragrances, and with male customers ninety percent of my unisex wearing customers are probably under the age of thirty.
Men and women will not hesitate to wear the same natural fragrances such as sandalwood, blue nile, etc, but when they sample designer fragrances the question of whether it was created for men or women comes into play.
So if you happen to try a fragrance which is labeled as belong to the opposite sex, try it. If it agrees with your body chemistry go ahead and buy it. Dont allow yourself to be locked into a box by what you perceive others will say or think.
You can also mix fragrances to produce your own custom scent. If this is the case then you should not hesitate at all to choose a fragrance which was created for the opposite sex as one of your choices. The thing that you want to think about is the effects of the ingredients that your scents contain and what it is point that you want to make to those who smell them. In other words what image do you want to create? Also consider the time of year that you want to wear the fragrance and the type of people that you plan to interact with when you are wearing it.
I have sampled many of the so called unisex fragrances over the years and I have to say that the perfumers who created them really knew what they were doing.
If you have never tried a unisex scented oil fragrance before you should certainly consider doing so.
