Traffic is the lifeblood of any online or offline business. Without the traffic of customers you have no business.

So being able to create rapid traffic whenever you need it is a crucial strategy and skill. So let's take a closer look at the What, Why, How and What If of rapid traffic generation.

The What of Traffic


So what is traffic really? For our purposes, I new define traffic as "regular and repeat visits to your profit centers from people who need your help."

The crucial phrase here is "people who need your help." Visitors to your profit centers are typically not just roaming around and stumbling onto your website. They have a particular need and have searched you out. You want this kind of traffic to be both regular and repeated.

The Why of Traffic

So why is traffic the key to constantly increasing prospects and profits, especially in the new economy? Three reasons:

1) As I mentioned before, traffic is the beginning lifeblood of your online business. You can have the best blog in the world but if it is not receiving any traffic, then what good is it?

2) You need new traffic on a regular basis. Do not rest on your on laurels as you begin to get traffic. Keep new traffic coming in on a regular basis.

3) You want more than one time visitors. You want repeat traffic. So don't assume that just because they have visited you once, they will automatically come back. Invite them back to a compelling place.

The How of Traffic

The how of traffic involves 5 simple steps:

1) Create great bait that is irresistible.

2) Spread your bait around online for a strong online presence in your niche.

3) Create a strong Call to Action to visit one of your profit centers to opt-in for more good information.

4) Build a list from the traffic that comes in.

5) And then offer great resources to your list community

The What If of Traffic

The "what if" question is a great question to ask, because it gets you future oriented and moves you to achieve that future result.

For our purposes here, it would be "what if you add regular, consistent, and long term traffic to your marketing mix?"

The answer is "when you do it right, you will never have to worry about traffic again." Which means you will have a steady flow of both new and repeat traffic and business.
