There are also clients who are not confident in relaying their concerns out loud or are better in expressing themselves through writing and at the same time value their anonymity. Using online counseling is a good alternative for them to keep themselves sane.

However, it is also believed that there are some disadvantages in opting for online counseling. For one, facetoface counseling gives the therapist more edge by being able to read the client through the latter's expressions alone. Also, as mentioned earlier, payment is required even before the session starts so the client will be signing his check for a session that haven't even transpired yet, to a professional whom he may have no remarkable news about.

Either way one would look at it, online counseling provides an option for trouble-free therapy sessions that is sure to help those who are immensely in need of one. Online counseling is available wherever, whenever.
