Signature Box Tips To Improve Click Ratio

WHAT IS A SIGNATURE BOX
Article directories allow you to be promotional, and put links to your sites in your Signature box (or "bio box"). When they publish your article, it looks like the last paragraph of your article. (I'm not talking about your author's profile, sig box is published at the end of EACH article).
HOW MOST PEOPLE START A SIG BOX
View some articles and you will notice that most people start with their name and talk about themselves in third person:
"Jane Doe is an expert in network marketing. She won some amazing awards. You can visit her site at www......"
Starting your Bio box in this this manner, only about 5% of the people who view your article will click through to your link.
When your reader gets to "Jane Doe is..." what's the first thing which comes to their mind?
- "Oh, the article has ended".
This is where you will lose a big chunk of your readers. It hurts but it's true: they don't care about you! Readers did not come to read your article because of you (unless you are a big hero), they read to see how your content will benefit them and their residual income opportunities.
TIPS TO IMPROVE CLICKS ON YOUR LINKS
By putting into practice these few simple tips and you will see that the percentage of people who click on your link will increase to an average of 15-30%. Huge improvement!
Don't make them realize the article has ended, make your sig box a natural extension of your article. It already looks like the last paragraph, just make it sound like it is.
Talk about THEM (your readers), and what can you do for THEM.
Talk about the BENEFITS they get from you, if they click the link.
DO NOT tell them to click the link. More people will actually click when you ask them.
Be creative in getting your reader to take that "call of action" and click on your link. Do that in a way that moves them!
One of the big magic words is "free", so here is one suggestion.
"The secret to an amazing marketing technique, can be downloaded for free by clicking on www...."
You can see that I'm building value and finally letting the user know they can get the report for free on my site. I'm building value because the word "free" itself may sound as if my offer is not valuable!
That page would require them to enter their email address so my autoresponder can email them the report. Then I can follow up with my paid offer later.
By the way, the word "secret" works great ;)

HOW MANY LINKS TO USE
Most directories allow you to have up to three links there. But EzineArticles (the most important directory) allows two. There is a copywriting rule which says: the less choices you give them the better.
So, never make them choose between your links. Even if you put 3 of them, at least, make them sound like only one choice, making the link enforce the message.
Use two links where:
the first link is hyper-linked to some keywords,
and the second one is the actual url (www...) linked
That second form suggests better the link is clickable, and also the articles WILL get republished on other sites (perhaps even in print) and you never know how will they treat your link.
I don't really suggest you try to be ideal with your article marketing research. It's more important just to get things done and put out there for your readers to find.
But if you're thinking about being close to your ideal signature box, definitely spend most of your time on your offer!
