With the divorce rate at its highest rate than ever before, the worsening of a relationship and maybe a divorce can be stopped by doing something to help solve the problems in your marriage. The signs of a bad marriage is easily recognizable. But its safe to say that you can try to save your relationship by being aware of the signs of a bad marriage.

The Lack of Intimacy

When you've been in a marriage or relationship for a long period of time, its hard to notice the dissipation of intimacy between your husband or wife. You would think that there would be a great deal of intimacy after spending so many years sharing your life together, facing problems, raising a family and so on. But its the problems that can lead to the lack of intimacy with your husband or wife. Just remember how you felt being near or next to your spouse when you were dating. Where you were able to share your thoughts and feelings and you were able to make mutual decisions. But after 20 years of marriage, often times couples can't stand to be in the same room with one another and definitely not feeling any intimacy for each other. And its not just the lack of sex, but also the mental intimacy, the little touches or even the lack of feeling appreciated. Maybe the lack of sex led up to the lack of understanding or even being fed up with one another. Whatever the reason is, its definitely a sign you are in a bad marriage.

The Lack of Communication

The lack of communication is a sign of a bad marriage. Its a consequence of the lack of intimacy. If your at the point where you are unable to solve a problem with your spouse, it points to a bad marriage. It can be anything, finances, your children or even what to have for dinner. If you are faced with this sign of a bad marriage, then you should try to think things through and then sit down and have a heart to heart discussion with your spouse about these matters. If the lack of communication isn't yet developed, then maybe you can re-build your old communication.

There are many bad marriages around, but bad marriages doesn't necessarily means a divorce. After recognizing and facing your problems head on, the lack of communication, the lack of physical and mental intimacy, the fact that you are willing to fight for your marriage, could help improve it and turn a bad marriage into a good one.
