Siib: Adding Managerial Expertise To Multiple Sectors

Introduced to the world as the Symbiosis Institute of Foreign Trade (SIFT) in the

early 90s; SIFT has grown to become the globally renowned Symbiosis Institute of International Business, today. Also known as SIIB, currently the institute offers degrees of MBA in International Business, MBA in Energy and MBA in Agriculture. An MBA in Symbiosis is known to transform students into world-class professionals facilitating business practices across multiple sectors. SIIB is also an addition to this rich Symbiosis legacy. Guided by a mission to foster global competencies amongst their students through a holistic learning approach; SIIB has emerged as one of the most preferred destination for students aspiring to build grand careers in the evolving global economic scenario.

Over the years, Symbiosis Institute of International Business has collaborated with leading educational institutes to further facilitate the learning of their students. As part of these international collaborations, SIIB is one of the few institutes to be able to offer students an opportunity to pursue dual degrees during their study tenure at the campus. The Symbiosis Dual Degree Programs in International business are a unique preposition offered at SIIB. Every year, SIIB selects a fixed number of students from the MBA in international business batch. These selected students are given an opportunity to maximize their learning by spending a part of their course duration at the respective institutes thereby pursuing an additional degree along with their MBA in International Business at SIIB.

SIIB's international collaborations extend to Berlin School of Economics and Law of Germany , Sheffield Hallam University of United kingdom and Hochschule Breman University of Applied Sciences in Germany. Each of them allows the selected students to specialize in a different sector. The Berlin School of Economics and Law (BSEL), Germany offers the students a chance to broaden their understanding of international business by including the consultancy aspect as well. Under this program, selected students study their first year at BSEL and the second year at SIIB. As a result, at the end of the two year tenure the selected students are awarded an MBA in International Business from SIIB and MA in International Business and Consulting from BSEL.

SIIBs association to Sheffield Hallam University in United Kingdom initiated with a semester exchange program that dates back to 2011. Recognized as UKs most multicultural institution, Sheffield Hallam has a diverse student population of 4000 from across the globe. As part of its collaboration, Sheffield Hallam University allows students selected from SIIBs MBA in international business program to spend one full semester at their campus to further sharpen their managerial skills.

On the other hand, SIIBs association with Hochschule Bremen University of Applied Sciences in Germany extends to an annual program of one month where twenty selected students from SIIBs MBA in International Business batch are taken to Bremen to understand management in the global scenario. These international collaborations, dedicated faculty and the esteemed symbiosis legacy are some of the distinctive features that make SIIB one of the countrys leading B-schools.
