Silk Scarves - From Aviator, Fighter Pilots To James Bond

, don't worry, you are not alone. The notion of men wearing anything silky may sound a bit too modern for some guys but silk scarves are actually very useful accessories and when worn right they can raise your attractiveness level in the eye of the ladies.

Thin fabric scarves are actually first worn by pilots of earlier planes which come with open cockpits. Silk scarves help filter the oily smokes by covering the pilots' mouths. Closed cockpit pilots also wore silk scarves, especially fighter pilots because they needed to look from left to right over and over to check for enemies and silk scarves prevented chafing.

Thicker mens scarves serve the same purpose as woollen ones, mainly to keep the wearer warm. There are also those which are mix woven, part silk, part wool. In dusty places, scarves can be used to keep the hair clean.

Start your scarf collection with ones in solid colors. If you find it difficult to pair your necktie with your suit or shirt, chances are you'll have the same difficulties with your silk scarves too. Once you get the hang of it, venture to low key patterned silk scarves. Tip: If you wear a lot of solid color shirts or T shirts, patterned scarves are good match. The opposite is true, too, solid color scarves work well with patterned T shirts.

Mens scarves come with a variety of material. Some are a hundred percent silk, some are mixed with wool, some with velvet, some with cotton. Buy ones with wool for warmth, as stated above. Velvety scarves add a certain flair to your style while cotton mixed silk scarves can be for those of you who may find silk a little intimidating still.

Not everybody can pull off the fringed silk scarf. While you may think your friend doesn't look half bad wearing a fringed silk scarf, it can be quite difficult figuring out what to wear with one. If you are game to try however, go for the silk scarves with a small amount of fringe. Less fringe is easier to match. Tip: Remember to keep your shirt or T shirt very low key in pattern when you wear a fringed silk scarf.

Mens scarves can be worn in casual situations and also at formal events. A classic white silk scarf is the best compliment for a black tie suit or tuxedo. Worn with a tailored black coat, you will look like a million dollar. Or James Bond. As for casual attire, scarves worn aviator style, loosely looped once around the neck or simply hanging long down the front of the body, is the most popular way to wear the accessory.

The simplest trick to wear the silk scarf and look really stylish is to wear them the French style. It is perfectly straight forward but gives maximum impact. Fold the scarf and wrap it around your neck. Hold the loop in one hand and the ends on the other hand. Push the ends into the loop and pull said ends until the loop envelopes your neck. Remember not to pull too tightly, the key is to warm your neck, not suffocate.
