A lot of people go into Internet marketing because they think it is a fantastic way to earn a lot of money, have a lot of freedom and not have to work hard at all. These assumptions, at least in the beginning, are why new IMers don't manage their time appropriately. You aren't required to plan your day down to the second but you should at least have a daily goal so that you know to keep your mind on your time. Having good time management skills will keep you focused on the tasks that you need to accomplish. When you are focused you will have a better chance of turning a profit.
Anyone who tells you that using someone else's content is acceptable, they're lying to you. Never allow a person to cause you to believe that taking content that's already published is an ok thing to do. There are those who use sales short cuts like taking content and selling it to more than one person at a time. Don't buy any of that content.
You need to make sure everything you write on your site isn't published anywhere else. Using articles and content that is used elsewhere is a giant no-no, even if you do buy the rights to publish it. You will always want to use fresh content for your site and for the products you're selling. This is how you will beat the competition. You would be better off hiring a person to write your content so that it's unique than to try and save a few bucks using content that's already on someone else's site.
Don't spend all of your time planning-spend some of it doing! A lot of IM newbies will spend too much time dreaming about all of the money they could be making. They spend so much time doing this they don't ever actually accomplish anything. Do not be afraid to just jump in and try some of the things you've been daydreaming about. Nobody ever makes money just by dreaming. It's no secret that internet marketers make a lot of mistakes. It's also common that most IM marketers will fail because of those mistakes.
Many of course do say that it's all a scam, and those are the ones who quit or failed to press on. Don't fall for the ego trap. If you're new, just be patient and keep learning because there is a lot to it.
