One thing that you may not give much thought to when you choose your jewelery for the day is the length of your hair. There is no use wearing a cute set of button or post earrings if you have long hair that covers your ears. No one will see them! Try a pair of chandelier or dangle type. If your hair is short, you will have more choices than someone with long hair, but if it is really short be careful not to wear a set that is too large.

An beautiful pair of diamond ones are great for a formal cocktail party or wedding, but of course you would not wear them to do your grocery shopping. If your job requires you to dress professionally, you will probably want to choose a pair that are dressy but not distracting.
Take into account your personality. If you are a dog lover, you might want to have a fun pair that show off your favorite dog breed. If you are a music lover, try a musical shaped set. Let your imagination run and try searching online for lots of options.
If you have just had your ears pierced, you are probably excited about wearing earrings. However, follow the instructions you were given by the person who pierced your ears.
