1. Do Not Begin the App Design or Wireframe Without Preparing a Flowmap A user flow must be created before an app developer starts with the design & wireframe process. The simplest apps must also have a flowmap in order to ensure a reasonable & logical navigational structure. Without a flowmap, key functional screens may get lost beneath multiple levels rather than feature at the top. This will lead to confusion and low user experience.

2. Invest Development Budget in Right People Sometimes, both a designer & a developer are required to make a successful mobile app. For example, a designer may have envisioned a search box in the app to provide live results for whatever a user types. But this feature may be difficult to implement. In this case, only the designer or the developer cannot be sole decision makers. 3. Do Not Undersize the Hit Area The minimum width of the index finger used to tap on screens of mobile devices is 2 cm. Therefore it is advisable not to include too many functionality buttons on the screen. Also keep in mind that mobile apps are accessed by people mostly when they are on the move, so make the buttons spaced enough so that tapping becomes easy.

4. Do Not Use Too Many Intro Animations Seeing intro animations when the app is initially being opened is fun, but too many of them can get tedious. Every intro animation technically begins only after an app is fully loaded. This means that the users access to the app will in reality be delayed if there is more than one intro animation. Also make sure that the transition from a still image as the app is still loading to an animation as it finally loads is seamless.

5. Dont Copy the Style of other Operating Systems Every OS has its unique style and what is more, the creator of the operating system may already have published details about the style under the Human Interface Guidelines. An app that is designed for use on the iPhone cannot have the navigation style familiar to Android OS. The design of the app should be such that it looks like it belongs to a particular OS platform.

6. Do Not Use Too Many Pixel Dense Screens Designing apps for high PPI (pixel per inch) screens may inspire an app designer to fit more features in one interface as he has many pixels to work with. But overstuffing of features will lead to difficulty in navigation and lower user satisfaction. It is advisable that designers preview the app on an actual device before releasing in the market.
