The next thing you have to do is to sort your documents into some categories depending on your specific needs. Your categorization may include insurance documents, tax documents, employee documents, or any other documents. Then, make a label on the hanging folders for each category you have made. You can write the label manually. However, you can print it for tidier writing. Place the labels in the plastic label holders and organize the hanging files you have created based on the alphabetical order.
If you think it is necessary, you can sort those categories into the sub-categories. For the example, you can sort the insurance documents into some sub-categories such as business insurance, health insurance, auto insurance, and some other types of insurance. Then, label it like what you do for the hanging folder of your category. Insert those folders in the alphabetical order.
The last thing you should do is to label the outside of the file cabinet drawer. It can help you easily notice which folder you should access when you need your files. With well-organized files, you can improve the efficiency of your business.
