Simple tips to making changes and meeting your goals
There comes a time in every person's life when we find ourselve's saying "I have
to change this." Yet, we just do not get around to making those important changes in our life. Here are some tips on how to change anything from gossipping to getting promoted.
It sounds hard maybe even impossible but it only takes the simplest of steps.
One of the main reasons why we never follow through with our plans to change is because we start out by setting high expectations. The first and most important thing to know is always start out simple. Make one goal for this week or even this month. If you want to change your tendecy to gossip with friends, start out by cutting down on the gossip instead of going "cold turkey." You should expect to make some mistakes but remember that it is ok.
Next you need to work on your negativity. When that voice in your head tells you that you are going to fail at this goal, push that out of your mind and replace it with positive thoughts. When you start thinking you can't do something, tell yourself that you can and will! Instead of thinking that this task is impossible, just remind yourself that it is difficult but never impossible. Go easy on yourself and do not beat yourself up over the mistakes. Just try harder each time. Lettin your loved ones like friends and family know that you are under pressure while making these changes can be helpful. Your loved ones can offer you support, advice and you could even influence them to make changes for themselves too.
Another good tip: use sticky notes to remind you of your goal and that you can make it. Post them on your mirror and read them each morning.
