Simplifying Hm T20 Way!

Key challenge for organizations moving from CMMI-DEV ML3 (or ML2) to CMMI High Maturity

is to train the employees on the statistical concepts and the usage of statistical tools. The knowledge of statistical techniques and tools can be overwhelming for many people this paper makes an attempt to simplify the High Maturity concepts by comparing it to a T20 match. The author has explained many concepts like control charts, hypothesis testing, matrix plots, simulation, sensitivity analysis etc in a simple way so that even a person who is new to High Maturity can also understand them.

A brief abstract of the paper in the author's words in as given below:

"Today CMMI High Maturity as a concept is well understood and appreciated in the quality community and with practitioners. It is widely implemented and accepted as the way to drive proactive project management, be it for projects executed across locations, complex engagements or for organizational innovations. One of the challenges faced while implementing on the field is how to introduce new practitioners to the terms and acronyms of High Maturity in a simple and effective manner. New practitioners look for ways that can help them relate to the concepts easily in terms of understanding and implementation. This paper aims to overcome that challenge by providing a way to simplify High Maturity concepts using T20 cricket match as a metaphor! Since, we as a country relate and enjoy cricket a lot, this paper will help practitioners build better understanding of HM concepts, appreciation of the need and value of HM in the IT world and understand practical implementation."
