I read everywhere that content is the king. I therefore created a 50 page content site in my niche. I learned how to design a website, write articles and setup a solid content website.

I believed that my site was full of solid content and I was confident that this website will drive massive traffic instantly as soon as I launch it. It took me around months to write these articles, learn website and graphic design, set up 4 products on my website and I finally decided to launch my website. I was confident that many visitors will start coming in, they will purchase my products and I could see the dollar bells ringing all around.

I launched my website and nothing happened. I was shocked. I waited for one month. There were no visitors coming to my website and there were no sales rolling in. I kept waiting. I was disappointed and de-motivated. What I finally realized that my site failed massively.

Now that I have good experience and have made over $25k with one of my websites I know what I did was wrong. Here are few things...

1. I did not build a targeted list of subscribers.

2. I did not submit any articles for getting incoming links to my website. If I would have done this I would not only got direct traffic but also got top search engine ranking for my keywords.

3. I did not track what is happening. In short I did not know how to track and test.

4. I was selling few master resell right products. I did not have a product funnel that could earn me profits for long time to come.

5. I did not use other powerful ways to drive instant traffic to my site like forum posting, search engine optimization, link building, article directory marketing, etc.
