Sinus Infection And Bad Breath - Nurse's Guide

You may have noticed recently that you have a bad taste in your mouth or have bad breath

. Often people who normally have sweet breath have bouts of bad taste and get upset about it. Usually people don't associate having bad breath or halitosis with their sinuses or having a sinus infection or inflammation (called sinusitis- means inflamed, including infected.) But it's one common cause of halitosis.

Of course you're concerned if you do have breath you don't like and should be. A sinus infection may just be starting up. A bad taste in your mouth or bad breath could be a good sign that you have an infection. You can immediately start your own home natural sinus treatment for it. You need to take care of it right away before it progresses into a more serious sinus problem.

One of the things that you can do right away is fix a salt water gargle to wash out any of the bacteria that may be growing in your mouth. Now a sinus infection is more than likely caused by fungus not bacteria but the bad breath is likely caused by bacteria in your mouth and throat. And of course there could be another cause of your bad taste or breath.

You may continue to have bad breath or this gargle may take care of it fast. To make the gargle use 8 ounces of warm pure salt water to one half measuring teaspoon of salt. You don't want to use too much salt or water that is too hot. Gargle for a few minutes and see if that takes care of the bad taste or your breath.

When you have bad breath due to a sinus infection, brushing your teeth and using harsh chemical mouthwash (not recommended) may not take care of it. You may have sinus drainage from the infected sinuses and this will continue until you have cured the infection.

You need to take care of your bad breath and possible sinus infection fast and continue to use the salt water gargle and use some nasal irrigation too. This will really flush out your sinuses, mouth and throat and may completely cure your halitosis and any bad taste you have in your mouth. Try to avoid getting sinus infections. Get to the cause of yours, especially if you have them often. Natural home treatment is the best treatment for sinus infections and bad breath.
