Philadelphia, the birthplace of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness has many treasures to be seen in this historic city
. If you are planning a trip there, these are some sites not to be missed.
In the city of Brotherly Love, one site not to miss is the Liberty Bell. The Liberty Bell has its own center where visitors can view this historic icon and piece of United State's history.
Get up close and see the crack in the bell and be reminded of the symbolism of freedom and liberty, which the bell represents. After visiting the Liberty Bell you can head over to the National Constitution Center.
The center is dedicated to teaching the public more about the Constitution and its history. This interactive exhibit is set up in hopes of creating a greater appreciation for the Constitution and what it means to our country.
Another historic attraction located in Philadelphia is Independence Hall. Independence Hall is where the U.S. Constitution was written and also the Declaration of Independence.
Open 365 days a year, free tours are offered at this historic site. Two very interesting things to see at Independence Hall are an original draft of the Constitution as well as the original inkstand used to sign the Declaration of Independence.
Continue on your historic tour as you head to Gettysburg National Military Park, located in the small town of Gettysburg. This site is significant because it was the spot where the largest battle of the Civil War took place.
Another very exciting attraction found in Philadelphia is the Lights of Liberty. Here visitors will experience the American Revolution and feel as if they are truly there through the use of state-of-the-art technology.
The Betsy Ross House is also a great historic attraction to visit. This Georgian-style home was built in the 1700s and in 1776 Betsy Ross sewed the first American Flag here.
There are plenty more historical sites that should be visited while in Philadelphia. But for those who are not so interested in history, there is still plenty for you too!
If you love theme parks, then head over to Sesame Place. A family theme park full of rides, attractions and entertainment, featuring the characters of Sesame Street.
Another great theme park in the area is Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom. This park features over 100 attractions including high-speed roller coasters to wet, wild rides.

This historic park boasts many new family attractions including mini golf, a classic carousel, a picnic area and much more. In the center of the park is the Franklin Square Fountain.
This marble masterpiece was built in 1838 and still stands today. Visitors will also find a delicious burger shack at the square, take and break and eat lunch at this fun attraction.
