Sometimes you don't need a lot of time for this, just fifteen minutes spent walking around your block can be enough to help you feel refreshed. You'll make a lot better parent if you take some time for yourself and do not try to be a perfect parent 100% of the time.

Most parents have a really hard time saying no to the things their children want. Learning how to say "no" in a way that is both kind and firm is a skill that will help you and your children tremendously. It is important that you actually tell your kids why not giving them whatever they want is best for them. If they eat too much ice cream, for example, they're likely to get sick or they'll eventually become overweight. Even if the child doesn't appear to understand this explanation, or care about it, part of his or her mind is absorbing it, so it's still worth repeating. In these cases you need to be as patient as you can and as persistent as possible in saying no--especially if your kid is asking again and again.
