The Witch Doctor can damage his enemies by conjuring acidic clouds and summoning critters that spread diseases. Flaming bats, swarm of locusts, even suicidal zombies. That is why the Witch Doctor in Diablo 3 offers a somewhat unique gaming experience one can build the talents of this class in a way that is organized around sacrificing the minions in order to achieve great burst DPS.

2.Curses And Hexes

Debuffs such as curses and hexes is another key feature of the Witch Doctor's fight style. The hexes weaken the enemies, soften them and often also incapacitate them, making it impossible for them to move. Debilitating poisons, life leeching spirit bolts, energy draining magic are richly employed when the Witch Doctor emerges in the battlefield.

The Witch Doctor not only has power over his minions, he also twists minds and bodies of his enemies. He prevents them from moving by calling out ghastly hands right out of the earth that grab the victims. The Witch Doctor can also fear his enemies to run away in fright. And if that is not enough, just for the laughs, he can humilate his enemies by turning them into chicken.

The Witch Doctor skills can be divided in Physical, Spirit or Command skills. Certain skills, talents or gear can influence either all or only one of these skill schools. For example, Rush Of Essence passive talent influences only Spirit spells and doesn't return mana when the Witch Doctor is using Physical or Command (Summon) skills. When creating a skill build it is important to keep these schools in mind but it is not necessary to build a talent tree around only one of them. Certain modifiers that increase the Witch Doctor's damage usually increase also the damage dealt by the Witch Doctor's pets. Most of Witch Doctor talent builds include both Physical and Spirit skills and, of course, the Pet Summoning (Command) skills

The difference between skill and damage types might seem a bit confusing at first. If the Witch Doctor skill types are Physical, Spirit and Command, then the damage types the Witch Doctor can employ in the battle are Arcane, Fire, Poison and Physical. The Skill Type is important when a certain skill influences whole type of skills, for example, the Witch Doctor's passive ability Rush of Essence reduces the mana cost only of Spirit spells.

Damage Type is important when facing an opponent that has some resistances. This is very important on Inferno difficulty and it is always handy to learn of the resistances of your enemy. If you are facing an enemy that has high Fire resistance, your Fire spells will do less damage.
