Skoda Named Best Car Manufacturer

Czech carmaker, Skoda, has walked away with the honour of being named Best Car Manufacturer in the Which? awards

.

The Volkswagen group brand beat even premium brands to be crowned the best as a Which? panel of expert judges and Which? members recognise it for its range of quality products, great value for money and high standard of customer care.

Chief Executive of Which?, Peter Vicary-Smith, who presented the award said: Skoda is a car company ideally suited to the times, as people demand more but want to pay less. It offers a great range of reasonably-priced, well-built cars.

Editor of Which? Car, Richard Headland added: People might know Skoda as a purveyor of value, but what they might not know is that this brand should be equally recognised for its quality of product, its reliability and its excellent dealer network.

Were very proud of the excellent engineering and great value in every one of our cars, and pleased that Which? has recognised the outstanding personal service our retailers give their customers.

koda manufactures five models in its range: the Fabia supermini with its new sport vRS version; the family carrier Roomster; the Octavia range, including estate Scout and vRS versions, the Superb and new Superb Estate; and the Yeti crossover.

Motoring Magazine Names Best Car Manufacturer

Which? Magazine recently named their best car manufacturer as Skoda for 2010. The Czech car brand were praised not only because they offer excellent value for money but also for being well-built, reliable cars.

They beat off completion from some premium car brands to claim this honour. It was stated that they offer reasonably priced, well-built cars which is what motorists are looking for right now.

Skoda currently manufacture five cars the Fabia supermini and its new vRS sport version, the Skoda Roomster, the Octavia, the Superb and the Yeti Crossover.

On the whole these vehicles are very practical cars in that they do what theyre made to do. They are not particularly attractive and wont turn heads as they drive by but the Roomster for instance will be able to cope with the practicalities of a busy family. Likewise the Superb is perfect for those who do a lot of motorway miles its comfortable and practical.

This award demonstrates that Skoda have come a long way over the past decade. Many motorists declared that they wouldnt touch a Skoda with a bargepole in years gone by but the manufacturer has proved that it is possible to change your image the same way Kia are currently improving their brand image.

Skoda are now part of the Volkswagen group and the vehicles in the line-up therefore use many of the same parts, which explains why their cars are now seen to be reliable and well-built. Think of a Skoda as a Volkswagen minus the good-looks and quality sport models with a good price!
