, Skoda Auto India has announced that it will launch some new products in this year. Mr. Thomas Kuehl, Board Member & Director, Sales & Marketing, Skoda Auto India stated that the upcoming Skoda model is the new Skoda Yeti which will be launched on the 18th of November, 2010. The compact SUV, the new Skoda Yeti is expected to be available with the price tag of about Rs. 15 Lakh. The model is also speculated to feature a 2.0lt diesel engine that currently powers sedan Skoda Laura. Skoda Auto India was recently in news because according to the industry sources, the company is mulling over the idea of collaborating with Maruti Suzuki for manufacturing a small car for the Indian auto market. It is to be mentioned here that another auto major, Volkswagen has already collaborated with Maruti Suzuki India, India's largest selling car manufacturer. Now the Skoda Auto desires to introduce its new small car under its recent model Skoda Fabia by the year 2012. The senior officials of the company even added that Skoda India is also planning to introduce a brand new car which will be positioned in the C segment. This new product of Skoda is likely to replace Skoda Octavia. It is expected that this new Skoda car will be there in the market by the second half of the year 2011. The Czech Republic car manufacturer, Skoda India had also announced few days back that it will localise the parts for the Skoda cars. In the period of upcoming 2 years, the company will carry on constituting the components of its products from the manufactures who are local. Though it is a clear fact that the local manufacturers will get a great boost with this move of the company but the experts doubt about the quality point. The experts as well as the company wants the customers to be happy and content.
