The Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, stretching from the Australian city of Cairns to Kuranda in Queensland is a truly breathtaking experience. A return trip will normally take about two and a half hours, while a one way excursion will take about one and a half hours. The Red Peak Station is the apex of the cableway, where Skyrail Rangers provide guided tours of the 175 metre rainforest boardwalk. Meanwhile at the Barron Falls Station the visitor has the opportunity to take advantage of the boardwalks to obtain a glimpse of the famous Barron Falls.

Also on offer are packages with the involvement of Kuranda Scenic Railway, which allow visitors to take one half of their journey on the railway, taking the Skyrail to Kuranda and returning by rail, or vice versa. Other packages available to the visitor include the Kuranda Wildlife Experience and a visit to the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park.

At Kuranda the visitor may take the time to explore its famous Heritage Markets, or have a snack at one of the pleasant cafes in the area. The wildlife enthusiast will enjoy a trip to the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary, Birdworld, or the Kuranda Koala Gardens.
