Slatwall, Changeable For Every Occasion

I've had the opportunity to attend a lot of trade shows

, both as a visitor and a presenter, and I can tell you that not all of them are created equal. The agency sponsoring the show has certain responsibilities with regards to advertising, quality of venue, and availability of necessary accessories, and if they fall down in any of these areas, the entities that have paid good money to be able to present at the show suffer. I attended a local show as a presenter where only about 30 percent of the promised visitors showed up. Needless to say, there was a lot of grumbling, both in the venue and in the parking lot.

Presenters at a show need to make the most of their kiosk or display space. Whether shared or personal, everything in that space needs to showcase their product or project. If the venue isn't clean and efficient, the presenter has to do whatever they can to get it into shape. One thing that always makes me happy when arriving at a new or untested venue is finding that my space has been enhanced with slatwall.

You're probably familiar with slatwall even if you don't know what it's called. It's the type of wall or display space that allows for different types of hooks, clips, and holders to be attached without the need to either tape the wall or penetrate the wall material. It allows a presenter to hang signs, attach displays and conceal cords and wired for electronic media and computers. Depending on what it's made from, it is usually easy to keep clean and can be ordered color-specific for those presenters that want the color of their walls to match the logos and trademarks of their product.

Slatwall is also used extensively in retail display space, usually for items in individualized packaging that are designed to be hung from a wall or on an aisle. On the consumer level, slatwall is very popular for hanging tools and implements in tool sheds, garages, and wood shops. I've even seen it used in living rooms in order to create bookshelves or easily changeable display spaces. It comes in handy in children's rooms, as it's versatility makes it ideal for providing shelves that match the height of the child.

The uses for slatwall are as limitless as the imagination. Whether you are a presenter, a woodworker, or a homemaker, slatwall is ideal.
