Most of us encounter problems with our computer freezing or suffering from slow performance and it drives you crazy when it keeps on freezing and pausing while you are using it. Increase the size if your virtual memory. This will help you until you get to the step below. The virtual memory is space on your hard disk drive that your PC uses to swap programs and files in and out of memory and if your PC is low on memory it is important this is the correct size.
Go to the windows start menu on there you will see my computer. Right click on this with the mouse. Click on properties. Click on the advanced tab, then the settings buttons, under where it says performance and then On the advanced tab, under virtual memory, click Change.
Under drive click the drive that contains the paging file that you want to change. Usually there is only one drive then under paging file size for selected drive, click to Custom size check box.
You can enter the amount of space you would like to reserve for virtual memory by entering the initial and maximum size.
Set both to 1.5 times the amount of memory in your computer, then click Set and restart your PC to help speed up and fix your slow computer.
