Since it is inevitable that some spilling will be made someday, you might want to consider a glass top table. Glass top is now a hot trend for modern home design, and its also easier to clean and maintain than wood types of material. Now to your bedroom, it is a place where you spend the night sleeping. So you want to make sure it is comfortable. You definitely need a mattress in the bedroom where you can sleep on. Depends on the size of your room and choose the proper size, do you need a queen size or a king size bed? Even if you are single, try to opt for a queen size mattress if you have the space. It is always good to think ahead, you never know when you will have a partner sleeping beside you. Not just the bed, the frame is also important. I personally recommend a frame that does not have leave spaces at the bottom. While it is a good idea to store some items below your bed, it will be very hard to clean later and it will look messy. Instead try a frame with drawer on both side, it is a much better design for you to store all your things and make it looks cleaner. And you dont have to bend down and clean the under bed every week.
