During the test the dogs used to be masked in a strange manner. After that, they were forced to inhale the smoke emitted from tobacco cigarettes. There used to be a smoking machine. When the cigarette used to get finished off, the machine used to light another cigarette and replace the burnt out cigarette with that. This is a very mechanical process of doing things. The only living part in the whole process is the beagles. They used to be tied to a certain place and they had no other choice than smoking. This way, the poor dogs started getting tortured day after day.

Later on another test was conducted, in which the dogs throats were cut open and an artificial mechanism was inserted inside their tracheotomies. This way, they could be able to smoke directly through their throat. This research was done on 78 beagles. After 875 days of the test conducted among them, it was found that 24 of the smoking dogs died, while only, 8 of the non-smoking ones died.

If you think the brutal part is over, wait. More is yet to come. There were several dogs, whose legs were severed. After that nicotines effect on their circulatory system was checked. These dogs were mostly unconscious at the time of the amputation process. In certain cases dogs chests were ripped to mechanically manipulate any sort of blood flow.

In order to check out the effect of smoking, coupled with drinking, some of the dogs were treated with smoke and then ethanol. PETA has strongly protested against the studies in which the meek dogs are subjected to such brutal tests. If you are one of those who also denounce such practice, you should also stop smoking traditional cigarettes. If it is difficult for you to quit it abruptly, ecig can be a good replacement for the time being.
