1. Applying anti-frizz spray or leave-in conditioner to clean, wet hair creates a smooth finish. Use hair drier to dry your hair completely or let it air dry.

2. Turn on the flat iron and set it on a clean, dry, level surface.

3. Hold your hair into small sections less than the thickness of your index finger.

4. Fix the flat iron around a section of hair close to the roots and slowly pull it down to the tip of the hair section. Let loose the hair from the flat iron.

5. Next step is to comb the straightened section of hair to ensure that it is flat and smooth. Repeat using flat iron a second time, if necessary.

6. Do again the steps four and five until all of your hair has been straightened.

Tips

To extend the time that your hair remains straight, apply a light amount of hair spray to each section and allow it to dry before straightening it.

To practice the straightening method, try straightening your hair while the flat iron is cool.

For short hair, thinner flat irons work better whereas wider flat irons are better for long hair.

Not at all leave a hot iron unattended or allow children near a hot iron.

To straighten your particular type of hair, do not heat the flat iron to a setting that is hotter than necessary. If you use a setting that is too hot, it could damage your hair.
