So You Want To Learn To Play Guitar?
Many people want to look into learning to play the guitar
. The guitar is a very flexibile instrument, one that you can take outdoors easily, on camping trips, even to the beach if you want, and the same cannot be said of a musical instrument like the piano. Learning music, chord progressions, and how to play well, even if just strumming the right chords for a popular song can be tremendously fulfilling and self satisfying.
A lot of people, however, get quickly discouraged with learning to play guitar because it is more difficult than they thought it would be. Really, the answer to that is get oer it. Nothing worthwhile doing is going to happen if you do not have the self discipline or self motivation to learn. Michael Jordan did not just randomly throw a few basketballs and then declare himself a basketball champ. Mickelson did not just hit a few golf balls from the first hole and then declare himself a golf champion. It takes dedication, motivation and discipline to learn to play well and there are no two ways about that.
But with all that said, today's modern technology brings new methods of learning to play guitar to the forefront, and learning guitar with these new approaches and techniques gives you an added advantage in your learning. Studies have shown repeatedly that people who want to learn something learn best by hearing audio representations of what should be heard, by seeing visual representations of how the strumming should happen and how the hands and fingers should be placed, and then practicing those methods and techniques until they become almost second nature.
Yes, a guitar teacher can help as well, but you are paying a per hour rate, and what happens if you did not just happen to catch what the teacher said about a particular technique? What happens is that you review that technique against next week, where you will pay for yet another lesson.
Now contrast that scenario with having an audio and visual presentation on a DVD where you can review a particular guitar playing approach or technique a thousand times or more until you understand what is being taught. Doesn't that make much more sense? Also, with your guitar lessons DVD, you can schedule your practice time around your busy schedule, instead of having to make time for lessons when a guitar teacher can fit you in?
