If you send tweets through twitter website or Twitter application, you will not be charged. However, Tweets that are send through SMS will be charged with a small fee in the phone bill.

Twitter was founded by Jack Dorsey in 2006. Since Twitter is launched, it has become increasingly popular. It currently have approximately 100 million users around the globe. Due to the huge amount of traffic, each tweet that you sent is guaranteed to receive good exposure. Many large and small business had used Twitter to promote their products. Using twitter allows you to save money on traditional advertising such as television, radio, and magazines. The cost for putting up a traditional advertisement is very expensive. Small business who has little capital are unable to afford the cost of traditional advertising. Therefore, they use Twitter to increase the visibility of their company.

Twitter is different than other social bookmarking site because it allows you to engage in conversation with other followers. If you constantly communicate with your followers, they will know you better. Once they know you, they will put their trust in you. You will be able to easily recommend your product or services to them. Without this feature, the followers may be less receptive to your promotion.

Before you can use Twitter, you need to have an account with them. After creating an account, you should update the profile. The profile page can be accessed by clicking on the Settings link on top of the page. You should upload a profile picture. If you are a dentist, you should upload a professional photo of yourself. Using a photo of yourself allows people to immediately recognize you when they visit your profile page. If you represent a company, you can use the logo as the profile picture. You should not use unrelated graphics such as animals or celebrities as your profile picture as it makes you look unprofessional. The purpose of using Twitter is to market to the users. Therefore, you must create a good impression on them.

In the location field, you should enter the city and state of the office building, for example, Brooklyn, New York. In the web field, you should type in the URL of your company website. In the Bio field, you should write a short biography about yourself. When you are done, you should click on the Save button at the bottom of the page. After that, you can start posting tweets on Twitter.
