Back in the days of my college years, hanging out with friends seemed to be one of the most natural activities that there were

. These days, things seem to have become a lot more complicated, and there two schools of thought when it comes to kicking it with your buddies!

The first of the two groups goes way too far. Reservations at the hottest restaurant not only means a hefty bill, but also a trip to the local suit shop to ensure that you are not seen at one of the cities biggest hot spots in yesteryear's threads. To add to the event, you would probably proceed to a music venue, a top notch bar & lounge, and end the night with an explosion of ill advised dance moves at one of the nicest clubs in the city. Though this certainly feels on the surface like it would be an action packed night, it also appears extremely unforgiving as far as the schedule goes. You would be running from one venue to the next, with little time to stop to enjoy all of the traffic that you would be stuck in, let alone the night itself.

Okay, although I can certainly appreciate the type of hangout with truly aspired to be a special evening, this seems way more complicated than it needs to be.

On the other side of the equation is the group that does not want to hassle with plans or reservations altogether. So they go the traditional "guy route" and throw some marinated steak and chicken on the old grill, fill the red cups full of heavy beer, and turn on the boxing match as you and your friends chill on the back deck until the early hours of the morning. Realistically, the main ingredient for this type of hangout is simply just having your friends over, everything else can be easily thrown together on a moments notice, and it is nearly always fun. So, although you are technically out of the house, you are certainly not out on the town at all.

Back in my college days, hanging out was not so extreme, in fact, it was a mix of the two previously mentioned schools of thought. We would all just just write down a random list of cool places that we all likes, a few bars, a few karaoke club, and one restaurant that we all agreed on. Doing this allowed us all to dress like bums and not be bound to an airtight schedule.

After that, for the luxurious and elite flavor that some of us desired, we would call a local limo service and schedule a chauffeured stretch navigator to pick up up. We would cruise into the city with the party in full effect, raging to the tunes of loud hip-hop, full open bar, and good friends.

The limousine service always features a chauffeur that will drive us from bar to restaurant to karaoke spot while we our partying, yet completely safe and legal. Not only does this let us control the pace of the night to a larger extent, but we also can enjoy our own little party however we wish.

Now, you may very well call me old fashioned, but that is the type of itinerary that let my friends and I enjoy a night together out on the town.
