Social media have really changed different areas of human life

The changes are caused by various factors including the developments of technologies. Adaptability is one important trait that workers must possess. Employees that can adapt to quickly to change are the employees that can experience growth in a fast-changing work environment.
Social media have contributed to the changes in the workplace. They have made communication faster and easier and have changed the way instructions are given, how people communicate with one another in the workplace, how employers communicate with workers, how the company communicates with investors and the company communicates with investors. Social media have also changed how companies hire and evaluate job applicants.
For many companies these days, the job applicant's knowledge of the uses and benefits of social media is very valuable. Companies also use social media to post job announcements, to get referrals for workers and other functions. There are success stories of people getting hired through social networks like Twitter.
If a job applicant uses tools like Twitter and Facebook to network with various people, those that also work in the same industry or profession, it becomes easier for them to look for possible jobs and companies that they can work for. They can also keep abreast with industry news and developments that can help them in their jobs. There are also networks that are very useful for professional networking such as LinkedIn.
For those that work in the creative industry or those who work in advertising, marketing, broadcasting and other media, social media such as blogs, personal websites, YouTube, Flickr, and other social media can help them showcase their skills, talents and creativity.
Companies also now use the internet to look for workers and to evaluate their character or do history checks. It is common for human resource personnel to Google the name of the applicant to see what comes up on the online search. Companies can learn a lot about what you do and who you are by searching for information online.
Many social media are free and allow the opportunity to showcase what people know and do. If people are smart about their social media use, they can really use social media for finding jobs and in the advancement of their career.
