Most of the IT companies invest a huge amount on the infrastructure which mostly
includes purchasing of hardware and software as well as maintaining them. Maintenance of the software mostly includes installing, configuring, testing, securing and at the same time updating the software to meet the requirements of the growing technology. These traditional ways are a bit hectic and even complicated and expensive at the same time which may impact other Enterprise related planning.

Software as a Service has following features which makes it convenient for the user to use it:
1)Always Available: Its easily accessible from anywhere and anytime, what you just need is any device connected to the internet.
2)Cost of Availability: it saves a lot of money spent on hardware and software installations and even saves on the man power required to manage it.
3)Automatic Upgrades: Its updated automatically so user dont need to worry about its updating. Its all been taken care by Software as a Service provider, as the application is hosted centrally. So, the updates done centrally apply to all without making customers to install any additional software.
4)Smoother Integration and Flexible: Its flexible and can be extended as per the need of the organization. So it is beneficial for all range of applications whether it be a small business or enterprise level application.

SaaS providers to users from availability to low-cost maintenance, we must keep in mind that every application has some loop-holes. Software as a Service has the risk of data security and connectivity which always clouds the minds of users. The following are the reasons why they need to worry about using SaaS applications:
-As the data is hosted over internet and internet being a high-traffic zone, it raises the question of security breach which can hamper the integrity of the data and SaaS application.
-If the user is looking for response within milliseconds, then the requirement for a high-speed internet connection is increased. Since all the data is hosted on a server far away from the user, high-speed internet is a must for accessing the features of SaaS application.
-Risk of losing data is also there if the
Software as a Service provider shuts down the service and the user needs to move to some new provider.
Software as a Service (SaaS) can be used for better management of available resources, lowering the cost of maintaining hardware and software and ease of accessing things from anywhere but the user needs to be confident enough in choosing the Software as a Service provider eliminating the above mentioned limitations of SaaS applications.
