Solve Troublesome Summer Woes Simply With Artificial Grass

As the summer finally begins to arrive with clear skies and some welcome warm weather

, it is worth reflecting on some of the annoying garden related problems many people will have already faced this year. From flooded gardens to ripped up turf, your lovely green lawn has certainly faced many challenges and while synthetic lawns cannot solve every problem, here are some that it definitely can.

Not enough water

One of the first problems that many home owners faced this year, especially in the south of England, was a long running hosepipe ban as a result of a long drought. While this did not completely prevent people from watering their lawns, it certainly made it extremely time consuming forcing many people to use a watering can instead of a hosepipe! One of the greatest benefits of astro turf is that it is almost entirely maintenance free and definitely does not require watering, so while lawns across the south were drying out from the heat, those with astro turf could relax in the sun.

Too much water

In a somewhat contradictory turn of events, too little water became too much water in a very big way during June. With flash floods and heavy rain across much of the country, many natural grass gardens were completely drowned and ruined. The key to avoiding this problem in the future is to ensure that you get a good quality synthetic lawn as they are completely water proof and designed with drainage in mind. All of this will not make the weather better but it will ensure when the sun comes back out, the garden is exactly as you left it and ready for use again.

Hay fever

Many people suffer with seasonal allergies like hay fever and the symptoms can range massively amongst different people, with some spending the whole summer with streaming eyes and a blocked nose. The pollen that produces the worst types of hay fever generally comes from either trees or grass, with people normally being affected by one type. The benefit of artificial grass is that grass sufferers will no longer be exposed to as much pollen, allowing more time to be spent out having fun in the garden.

Weeds

One of the worst tasks of the summer undoubtedly has to be removing weeds out of grass either by hand or with dangerous and polluting chemicals. Thankfully, artificial grass comes with protective underlays that prevent weeds from growing and popping up through the grass. This gives you longer to spend on the flower beds and less time wrangling with the lawn!
