Solving Problems With Wired Networks

Having a wired network is well worth the time that is saves you or your company

. Even with the few problems that they may have, you will be glad you invested in one. The problems associated with wired networks can usually be easily resolved if you know what you're doing.

A jam in the network can be a pretty common problem. This is especially common among networks that are run off a hub. When the system gets overloaded with information, it will slow down almost to a standstill. To fix this, you may want to reroute your network through a switch or router.

Because there are so many cables, wires, and other equipment it is common to get shortages. If your power is still on yet your computers aren't working, chances are one of the cables is either unplugged or shot. Simply plug it back in or replace it to resolve this issue.

The equipment used for wired networks such as a wired router is usually pretty reliable. If you suspect that there's a problem with the router there are a few things you can do. Test it with different outlets and computers to make sure there's not a power or computer issue. If the router is in fact bad, the best thing to do is get a replacement for it.


Something very frustrating but very common is exceeding your bandwidth. Bandwidth is the allowed amount of traffic you are eligible for. If you exceed your bandwidth, you can be shut down until the traffic goes back down or you purchase more bandwidth. Many times this is simply trial and error.

The installation of a wired network can be a huge headache. There isn't anything you can do to skip this step. If you are doing it yourself make sure you do your research. If you don't want to spend the time with it, you can hire someone out to do it for you.

Many people choose wired networks because they are quick and reliable. If you aren't willing to switch to wireless, you will just have to live with the installation mess that it creates. Don't cut corners or you will regret it later on when your network doesn't work.

A wired network is a great invention. It really helps companies and individuals get a lot more work done a lot faster. Make sure you are aware of the problems that arise and be prepared to solve them.
