Listen carefully... not casually; Listen for distinctive words, listen for previously heard words, listen to hear when a sentence stops, or a question commences, and listen for a prompt for you to respond.

Try to speak confidently, not shyly.

Use your newly refined skills- Ask your pet how they are (in Spanish) today, if possible, or try on for size your new conversation with your child/roommate. Find a TV show in Spanish, or a Spanish Internet forum on a subject you like, and follow along adding comments if possible! You probably won't know every word, not yet... But I bet when you are at this stage, youll know some of then. It will aid you to feel more courageous.

Following that, think about joining an online Spanish learning community... This is a fantastic method for discussing your trials and tribulations with others, keeping in mind there are many others in your position exactly like you! Don't forget you can also keep notes! This is a awesome way to reinforce the new material you have learned.

Reading Spanish newspapers is another constructive idea for advancing your vocabulary and understanding, as many of the recent stories will be familiar and provide some context. Try your nearest library or the internet for example, like the El Pais newspaper..
