Even the most high quality flat irons, like any other electrical appliances can stop working after a few use if you leave it without cleaning. The heating plates of a flat iron are the most important part of it which requires proper care. So, it is always better that you take good care of your hair styling tool than invest again and again in buying a new one every time. 1. Hair irons can often get damaged when their wire gets tangled with the wires of other electrical devices such as a hair dryer. So, make sure that you dont leave your hair iron in your bag or somewhere together with other appliances. When the wires get tangled, we often tug at the cord wires to remove them out. As a result, the protective rubbers of the wires may tear at junctions and can be dangerous by causing shocks and injuries.

2. Never leave your hair iron unattended after using them. always wait for it to cool down so that it does not come in contact with your kids or pets. The hot iron may take about 8 to 10 minutes to cool down. So, beware of that.

3. Never allow your hair iron to cool in front of the air conditioner. If you cool your iron this way, only the outer surface of the iron will be cooled while the inner part of wiring and fuses will still remain hot. This will lead to moistening of the wire which in turn lead to iron damage by rusting of the metal.
