2. It's convenient

But aside from these benefits, there are also other questions that always bother the minds of those who are considering waxing. Consider these answers to your questions:
How is waxing hair removal done?
A thin amount of special wax is spread over the skin. After which, a cloth strip is pressed on the top of the applied area. With a quick movement, it is then ripped of the skin, removing the was along with hair and dead skin cells, which leave the skin smooth.
What's the difference between hot waxes and cold waxes?
Hot wax is what is commonly used in spas and salons. They melt a little over teh body temperature. This is why it is not uncomfortable for the person being waxed, and it is also easier to spread it thinly over the skin. Once this hardens, hair is trapped in the wax, and the hair is pulled along with the strip.
Cold wax is what comes in pre-coated strips which can be directly pressed on the skin. Otherwise known as Persian waxing, the coated strips immediately sticks to the hair, which are then removed with a quick pull back action.
What effect does waxing hair removal have on the skin?
Aside from getting rid of unwanted hair, waxing is also great for exfoliation, or removing dead skin cells. The result after waxing is smoother skin you cannot get from merely shaving. Waxing may also cause the skin to sting right after. In this case, you need somethng to soothe it. There are also some who have some negative reaction towaxing like bumps and redness that often disappear after a few hours.
Are there any health precautions to keep in mind with waxing hair removal?
Some people are discouraged from waxing. Physicians do not recommend hair waxing for patients with diabetes, varicose veins or poor circulations because any open would is more susceptible to infection.
People who use Retin-A, Differin, Renova or Accutane are also discouraged from waxing their face. These types of medications weakens the skin. In worse conditions, waxing may result to the tearing of the skin when the wax is removed.
Waxing is also not to be done on areas with moles, warts, pimples, rashes, or skin with any irritation. Sun burnt or chapped skin should not be waxed.
On what body areas wax be used?
There are only a few exceptions to waxing such as eyelashes, male genitals and nipples, the insides of the ears and nose. However, if it is your first time to get waxed, it is recommended it is first done on a small area of the skin.
How long before hair reappears?
The maximum time for hair regrowth is up to two months maximum. Other than the longer regrowing time, another reason why this is prefered is that the regrown hair is usually finer, and less until it finally never regrows.
How can the pain or discomfort be minimized?
Discomfort is easily minimized by pressing on the skin hard right after waxing. Do this immediately, using fingers, or palms if the area is much larger. Simply press down for a few seconds.
Another way to minimize the possibility of swelling or skin irritation is to rub an ice cube over the area. There are also some soothing gels specifically designed to lessen risk of infection and at the same time, alleviate any stings felt after waxing.
