Some Important Advice On Toilet Training Your Kid

Parents can keep the drama associated with potty training their kids while they are traveling by just making a few easy preparations in advance.

Remember to bring your child's potty chair with you on the trip. This will help them keep the training routine intact. It is also nice to have when those unexpected bathroom emergencies arise, because all you have to do is pull over and put the potty chair on the seat. Just remember to bring the liners or plastic bags for the potty seat, but it will make cleanup easy.

It is also important to bring some extra toilet paper or diaper wipes along for the trip as well. Use whatever your kid is accustomed to so they won't be affected too much.

When you bring things on the trip that children are familiar with makes it easier to keep the process on track. Since long trips can be pretty stressful on everyone, familiar things will help out the situation tremendously.

Consider getting some disposable training pants for the road. There are a wide variety of different types and styles, and they offer great protection against those embarrassing accidents.

Try and keep the amount your kid has to drink in the car to a minimum. Don't let them get dehydrated, but don't encourage them to have to go to the bathroom every ten minutes either. It's not always easy to find a quick place to pull over.

Plan on making regular stops for stretching and bathroom breaks at rest areas along the way. Also, don't be shy about bringing the child's potty chair with you to the bathroom. They often would be more comfortable using their own than someone else's.

Expect your child to have an accident or two along the way because of the stress from traveling. Just remember to be patient and know that he will learn soon enough. Just remember, traveling is hard for adults, but can be even harder on children.

Once you get to where you are going, remember to encourage your kid and let them know that the did a great job on the way. This reinforcement will enable your child to further master their potty training.
