Some Tips When Using Hair Shears

There are times that you would feel that getting a haircut is not enough. There are hair problems which cannot be solved by mere hair styling - what needs to be done is a thinning out process. Hair layering and texture can do the trick of adding character to any head hair, with a little help from thinning hair shears. However, in order to appropriately achieve a smooth finish, there are a number of guidelines which need to be observed when handling hair shears.

First, do not get too excited with mane thinning. One of the greatest problems encountered by people when they use thinning shears is that they end up removing too many hair-strands. Remember that hair shears have teeth like blades, meaning that it could remove hair strands in a single snip. That is why you should not overdo it, or else you will remove the bulk of your hair-strands and suffer undesired hair proportions.

If you have thick, long hair and you would want to thin it out, the first thing you would have to do is to smoothen it out with a comb. And then, divide the hair-strands into portions, and work your way through each section. Start using the hair shears on the one-third up to the one-half part of the entire hair length. Open and remove the hair shears with every snip. To achieve a smooth look, run a comb through the portion of the strands which has been cut already. Begin cutting through the next section and repeat the same procedure until you have finished thinning out the entire head hair.

If the situation necessitates, you can actually do a second round of hair thinning. But then, the snips should now be done at a point about one-third above the hair ends. This will be necessary in order to maintain the fullness of the hair and remove the bulk of the hair-strands without actually altering the hairstyle.

If you follow these guidelines religiously, your hair shears would definitely provide you the style and texture your mane deserve. Enjoy hair thinning!
