The first thing you have to do is to choose the color of the curtains, choose one which can complement to the tone of your room. Among all color options, white is the most popular one. It is very popular since it lets the light to pass through and it can complement to any color schemes. Another popular color is Ivory or off-white. Yet, they can create a yellow effect to your room. Meanwhile, plain white sheers can add a country feel to your room.

Furthermore, pastel sheer colors such as pink and blue tend to appear white unless they are placed close to an object with solid white. On the other hands, if you choose darker color such as burgundy and navy, you can hardly see through the sheer although they can let the light pass through.

The second thing you have to do is to decide the fabric and weight of the sheers. Fabric which is commonly available is inexpensive polyester which is airy and lightweight. Another idea is the lightweight cottons and linens. They are commonly used for sunny room. Another interesting sheer fabric is loose-weave cheesecloth.

The third thing you have to do is to determine how the curtain will drape. You can let your curtain loosely hang over the entire window. They can provide you privacy during the day. At night, the people outside can commonly see inside through the sheer. If you want extra privacy, you can consider using layer under the drapes.
