The third thing that you should do is to dig the edges last. It is very important for you to not step on the edges because they can break. You have to make them strong by using roofing flashing or other sturdy materials so that they will hold up the wall.

The fourth thing is to measure and also make sure that you are deeper than the freeze line by at least a foot. So, your fish will not get any problem when living there through the winter. Do not forget to keep the hole open in the ice so that the gases can be exchanged.
