Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is the Finest Xperia Android Yet

After a number of misses in the high-end smartphone industry, Sony Ericsson seems to be back following the launch of the Xperia Arc. The first phone that was introduced by Sony Ericsson at the Consumer Electronic Show 2011 and it did not take long for the Xperia Arc to get an instant response from the crowd. Even though Sony Ericsson phones have been pleasant to look at over the years, they have necessarily not being the same with regard to the amount of features in the phone.

Mostly it has to do with the out-dated operating systems that Sony Ericsson relied before realising that it would not work for its high-end mobile phone range. Hence, a number of new features are introduced into the Xperia Arc along with the latest available operating system. It is going to make use of the 4.2 inch touch screen display, which is going to be the benchmark for the segment within the next few years due to the Bravia Mobile technology that it is introducing. This technology will be coming with the ability to introduce new levels of detail and crispness within the touch screen display that has not been seen using the AMOLED technology. Not even the retina display technology can come close to the level of definition that is going to be offered by this new technology, which is similar to the one that is used in Sony's LED range.

The Xperia Arc will be offering the 480 x 854 pixel resolution within this touch screen display, which might not be the one that is going to topple Apple iPhone's resolution, but it is one that will be severely affecting the outlook of the retina display technology. This is due to the 1 GHz single core unit that is present in the phone and this is probably the best mobile phone processor that Sony Ericsson can introduce at this moment. Obviously, there are the dual core processors that were launched in the mobile phone industry only recently, but Sony Ericsson has felt that they will not be viable option in the Xperia Arc due to the limitations with regard to supplying power from the battery. The Xperia Arc will be using the same 1500 mAh battery that has been in use for a long time in the Sony Ericsson mobile phones, but due to the usage of the single core unit, it is able to deliver up to 7 hours of talk time in both 2G and 3G modes.

This is something that cannot be achieved with the dual core processor and Sony Ericsson seems to have achieved a fair balance between the two. The Xperia Arc will be offering the latest Android 2.3 operating system, while it will also be coming with the latest Adobe Flash player 10.2 support. The Xperia Arc is now available for pre-order in the United Kingdom and it is going to be priced at around 500, with an expected release date being quoted around April.
