Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 - New Addition To Xperia Line With Great Features

With the phones like Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and others costing well over what would be the affordable price range for most people, Sony Ericsson has launched the new Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 to satisfy even the budget conscious of buyers. This is the phone that will be priced between the X10 at the top of the range and the X10 Mini at the lower end of the range. Hence, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 seems to be the best phone for those who don't want to spend a lot to get the X10, but see the X10 Mini has as very small to their liking.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X8, then literally bridges the gap between the two segments. In the process, it has managed to create a new segment of itself. The phone has a 3 inch capacitive TFT display. This touch screen can display up to 16,000,000 colours at a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. What's more important than the resolution and the colour contrast is the fact that this screen can't be scratched at all. This is because it uses the scratch resistant surface to resist the wear and tear that normally comes with day to day usage. Despite having a number of great features, the phone lets itself down by having the android 1.6 operating system. This is one of the first android operating system is to make its way and it really feels primitive in this day and age. However, that disadvantages to be the overcome by the fact that it uses Sony Ericsson's famed user interface.

The camera too is a bit of a let-down at three megapixels. Despite having a poor camera and the old operating system, the phone does have its merits in the fact that it has an excellent audio quality. And the phone incorporates all the technologies that Sony has used in their Walkman's. The phone also has an FM radio and social networking integration as standard. Wi-Fi connectivity, 3G and built-in GPS receiver are some of the standard kit in this phone. This is a quad band phone, and hence you can use it anywhere in the world. The phone was launched only a few months back and is available in the UK.
