Piazza Tasso
This main square, and essentially the centre of the town, is a bustling area during the day, home to Sorrento's major internal transport links, as well as links to other towns in the surrounding area.
At night it is completely transformed, becoming a lively and vibrant place to eat, drink, and mingle with the locals. The square fills up quickly with people looking for delicious Italian food and places to sit and enjoy the balmy Mediterranean evenings, watched over by the huge marble statue of the square's namesake, Italian poet Torquato Tasso.
You can't miss (and wouldn't want to) the beautiful architecture of the Maria Del Carmine church, which sits majestically on the edge of the square.
Sant' Agata del Due Golfi
Only a few miles from Sorrento town, this place is truly spectacular and boasts beautiful views over both the Bay of Naples and the Bay of Salerno. The cliff-top town is easy to get to from Sorrento and will suit those people searching for a more tranquil evening of authentic Italian pastas, pizzas, gelato (ice cream) and fine wines.
Corso Italia
Imagine beautiful buildings painted in pretty pastel colours, exclusive Italian boutiques, locals going about their business on foot and on bicycles, and an array of pavement cafes and eateries, and you will conjure up a picture of what is essentially Sorrento's high street. Wander along the Corso Italia at your leisure until your feet hurt, and then stop for a cappuccino or a freshly made ice cream!
