Everything in this world has certain limits and when crossed can have harmful effects not only on an individual but the whole society and culture. Freedom of speech is a basic right of every person but sometimes this right can be taken advantage of in many negative ways. United States of America as being the hub of the most famous recognized colleges and universities students of all ethnic backgrounds come and do studies together. Therefore in my opinion students should be given freedom of speech on campus to make their voices heard but only for educational purpose, on-campus problems or extra curricular activities.

As in my college you can talk about everything educational and other school activities but you cannot freely talk about other ethnic backgrounds, politics, religion, sex, status, color, gender and race and this is very good because many people who do not like other person's religion or background, if given liberty of voice can hurt other person's feeling by saying what beliefs they hold inside. The other result might be that it turns out to be a huge fight if they both disrespect each other by saying negative comments which resultantly will lower the school's reputation and increase misunderstanding between communities. Other than that people hold many opinions they agree upon and will then fight for it to make others believe it by hook or by crook.

A simple situation you can just consider as an example would be of the elections which will be happening in white house but due to extensive freedom of speech on campus students will grab each others collars to make their candidate win. Therefore such freedom of speech is highly neglected in educational institutions because as younger generation of any country is very much stronger than other age groups to impose their opinions on others and they are considered fearless of taking any dangerous without even considering the negative effects of it on their college or their future.

If differences between race, ethnicity, color or religion are openly talked about on campus many students will start feeling disrespected by others because most of them would talk negatively about each other on their faces. Then colleges and universities will no more remain place of education but rather than that it will be more of open racial debate center where students can just walk in take classes with lesser interest in studies and more interest on what to talk about after the class with other students or who will the next target for their embarrassing and insulting remarks.

Therefore in my opinion freedom of speech is better if it remains within the boundaries created by the educational management rather than running campaigns to extend those boundaries because when speaking less is always more. As all colleges and universities are there to create wise men and women for the nation therefore it always considered that wise people are those who speak less.
