Terrorism comes in many shapes, forms, and sizes but the bottom line is that it is an unwarranted

, unprovoked attack against innocent people. The terrorist always feels that he or she is just in their cause and that they must do something drastic (like go on a killing spree) to get attention. Personally I think that the root of the problem is just that they want an excuse to kill.

At this particular time in our history we want to look for Middle Eastern men but we need to keep our eyes open to the fact that there are many terrorist who are indigenous to our own country. We must continue to keep our eyes open to all forms of domestic terrorism also.

The greatest number of deaths and injuries in this country have been produced by domestic terrorists. Even though the most spectacular terror attack was the bombing of the twin towers in New York by Middle Eastern men who commandeered commercial jets and flew them into the buildings. This definitely got our attention as well as it should have but let us not get tunnel vision when it comes to classifying terrorism.

People who are potential domestic terrorist are not necessarily going around looking for something to blow up at all times as are terrorists whose stated agenda is to kill Americans. Acts of domestic terror seem to come at certain times and also seem to be precipitated by some type of circumstance. The domestic terrorist doesnt always resort to acts of terrorism to prove his or her point but they are always an option. This type of terrorism accounts for about seventy to ninety percent of the terror violence done in the United States.

Some of the organizations which conduct such acts of terror include militia groups who are against our concept of federal government, animal rights groups, anti abortion groups, and groups with racist agendas. As you can see these groups feel that they have a cause and that they are just in what they believe. In every case the cause is either pro life or a pro rights cause. As you can see they really believe that their cause is right.

Islamic terrorists are also convinced that their cause is right. They are so convinced as is every other type of terrorist that they see murder as a viable way to bring attention to their beliefs.

All terrorist groups may resort to illegal activities to fund their causes which I see as irony in its purest form. The fact that the person who is convinced that he or she is fighting for right may resort to tactics which they know to be illegal befuddles me. Some of the illegal money getting activities may include murder, assault, bank robbery, counterfeiting, and drug sales. Even religious extremists groups will sometimes resort to using these tactics. They will always find some sort of excuse to justify their illegal activities.

The tactics used for domestic terror are guerilla tactics because these groups are normally small. They are designed to be as deadly and dastardly as possible because they want to draw attention to their cause. These groups are normally organized under a national or internationally known headquarters but their acts of violence are normally conducted by fringe elements. Military Ring Express
