Spain Liga BBVA – Barcelona and Sevilla will dispute the first title of the season this Saturday

The famous and controversial FIFA virus has attacked again

. This time the victim is FC Barcelona, and the timimng couldn't be worst, since the national team has called six of the current FIFA World Champions for a friendly match against Mexico. This will cause some of them to lose the first game of the season: the Spain's Super Copa, between the Liga and Copa del Rey champions. The coach, Joseph Guardiola, will have to improvise the starting line up with a combination between the players from the first team and the reserve.

This virus is one of the biggest problems that the big teams in Europe have to face each season, as they are forced to lend their stars to their respective national team even if it interferes with their competition schedule. A greater problem can result from this as well. In the worst case scenario a player can come back to his club injured from one of these games, and they can't do anything about it, because they have to follow FIFA's orders, despite them paying the player's salary.

On the other side of the road, the bad news from the Liga Champions are good news for Sevilla, who sees its chances of winning increase with the great number of absentees that the Catalonians are facing. The current Copa del Rey champions will only lose one player, Jesus Navas, who will dispute upcoming friendly between Spain and Mexico. He is the only player that has been called from his club by Vicente del Bosque.

Despite this situation, Sevilla's president, Jose Maria Del Nido doesn't want to carry the sign of favorite, and thinks that the "favorite is always the Liga Champion", subtracting importance to the six players from Barcelona that will be away with their national team: Valdes, Pique, Busquets, Xavi, Pedro, and Villa. Del Nido's opinion on this match is: "beating Sevilla in a two game final is very difficult", a statement that tries to keep the low profile, make his players feel confident about their possibilities, and taking the pressure of favoritism away from them.

Barcelona will not be able to face this challenge as they would have wanted too, but not all of this issue is bad. There is a positive aspect for the reserve players of the team, as they will have the opportunity of not only playing a final, but also demonstrating the potential that they have to offer to their coach, Joseph Guardiola. A good performance by these young talented players could open more doors for them in the near future, as Barcelona has a short roster to affront a season loaded with games.

One week after this match, the title will be decided in Barcelona, upcoming Saturday 21st. By then Guardiola will be able to count with his entire roster, if hopefully nobody gets hurt during the friendly games during this week.
